On the twelfth day of Christmas, the Three Kings Day

mivy37155

On the twelfth Day of Christmas, January 6, we celebrate Three Kings Day! Celebrated most in Europe, Spain and Latin America. El Did de los Reyes', as it is called in Spanish, marks the glorification of baby Jesus by the Three Wise Men.

Many believe mysterious events preceded Jesus' birth with perhaps the most notable being the appearance of the star in Bethlehem. This new star appeared in the evening sky, just prior to the arrival of Jesus. Three wise men or Magi as they were known, were named Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar, they traveled a far distance to pay homage to baby Jesus. They brought with them fine gifs of gold, frankincense and myrrh. The Latin American and Caribbean countries that celebrate this holiday are: Venezuela, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, Guatemala and Paraguay.

Wr wish you all a very happy holiday season and Feliz Did de los Reyes!! Cheers, IM
